Nomad Leather is a proprietary alternative that's more uniform in colour and texture and less variable. Horween for the heritage, character, and aging story; Nomad Leather for the more uniform look at a slightly lower price.

Will the leather scratch easily?

It will mark with use — that's the point. The marks buff out into a rich patina over a few weeks. Cheap leather cases scratch and look damaged; Horween scratches and looks better.

How well does Camera Control work through the case?
